Two

He had just woken up from a nap, eaten, and showered. He was full of energy and happy.
And he would not look at me.

He's Two

Already? That went fast.

We love him so much. He blew out his candles 5 times.

BBQ for real

My friend Nick is from Texas. He sent me this sign at a restaurant he went to in Texas to prove to me how serious they are down there about their BBQ. Once his family even drove 3 hours for some good BBQ.
Crazy. But I so want to try some.

County Fair

Animals, police cars and motorcycles, trucks, tractors, construction equipment, man drumming, ride that he went on 3 times, and chocolate milk. I think the little guy will sleep well tonight.

I've never had this happen to me before. Underexposed to the point where you can still kinda see it, but there is a beautiful ray of sun that comes in perfectly.

Tried lots of new things tonight. Learned a lot. And had a blast.

4th of July

My favorite party of the year. The US Bank fireworks. Food (I think my brothers-in-law were up to fifths or so), a Big Band, treats, fireworks, and Milwaukee weather. It's always perfect fun.

A fun little band took a liking to Sammy and came and played for us.

He took a liking to them and followed them around. Sammy likes to conducts when he hears music.

These guys are great. They played at Lindsay's wedding and are a lot of fun.

Wearing his "ear goggles" as I taught him to call them. It's so much more fun to say than "ear protectors."

I love fireworks and the delight that they are. Especially when you are reminded of the principles this country was founded upon.

Then we went home and did our own the next night. One spurted off under Lindsay's car. That was scary. But really fun. I was giggly about it.
