If

If I had endless amounts of time and money and could tolerate drunk people, this would be my Summerfest lineup:

June 26th - Keith Urban or Carolina Liar
June 27 - KISS
July 2 - Felix Culpa, Guster, Shiny Toy Guns, No Doubt with Paramore
July 3 - Gavin DeGraw
July 4 - The Fray and Jack's Mannequin

Viva Las Vegas

To get us in the mood of Las Vegas (we had just come from Kolob), I played a little Elvis. It helped.
Didn't get a pic of the Elvis-es we saw. Sorry.

Love Playlist

My dad and his business partner made up a bad {love} song playlist to send to a business buddy who sends them music.  I made myself a copy since I didn't know most of the songs.

I could not listen to the whole thing.  I couldn't take it - it was so bad.  So bad.

Here it is:

- "Dancing queen" - ABBA
- "Breaking up is hard to do" - Neil Sedaka
- "Brand new key" - Melanie
- "You make me feel like dancing" - Leo Sayer
- "Muskrat love" - Captain & Tennille
- "Jive talkin' " - Bee Gees
- "Dizzy" - Tommy Roe
- "Nobody's perfect" - Hannah Montana
- "How am I supposed to live without you" - Michael Bolton
- "Simon says" - 1910 Fruitgum Company
- "I will always love you" - Whitney Houston
- "Come clean" - Hilary Duff
- "Gypsies, tramps, & thieves" - Cher
- "Year of the cat" - Al Stewart
- "Sugar, sugar" - The Archies

just thinking about listening to it gives me the heebiejeebies.

So much better

Listening to Hawaiian radio, heard this remix of American singer Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" (which I don't like).  It's by a Norwegian.  ha.  I like it so much more.  This cheap video doesn't do it justice.

Hawaiian Radio

If we hold on together - Kealii Reichel

this made my day.  well...part of it.  it's the song from Land Before Time hawaiian style.  ha.

By this guy.  yay hawaiian radio.

ps: that movie made me sad.  very sad at a tender young age of four.

The Talent Show is upon us

Twice a year, my Young Single Adult Ward puts on a talent show.  My first one was a year ago.  Now that my sissy is leaving me high and dry to get married, I'm not as excited (we would always do stuff together).  Maybe if the talent shows weren't 17 million hours long...

Anywho, I think I'm going to do this song.

A) because Gwen Stefani is one of the only female A-listers I can stand
B) she's just so cool
C) i love this song

kinda lame music video (good for No Doubt fans), but i love the Super- 8mm look of her with the old styled hair, makeup and dress.

Spiralling song

Keane is coming out with a new album in October and they (finally) revamped their website.

Plus, they are giving you a chance to download a song for FREE.  but get there now cuz time is short.

British music

is probably my favorite.

Listen to Virgin Radio here or on iTunes (under Radio).

It helps you keep up on music coming out of London.  And its a really great radio station.

This is long

Remember how I'm a concert junkie?

Summerfest happens every year. It is the world's largest outdoor music festival. They have huge names play in the Amphitheater, but every other stage is free with admission (still big names).

Last night I got my yearly dose. It is packed with people. It is basically a giant party with crazy people who you wonder where they come from. But the music is always good.

We went to see Paramore. Man, can they rock and can that girl sing!

There were people saving seats all day (remember, it's a free stage). We just so happened to have a friend who have seats up in the second and third row. So we all held hands and headed into the masses to get to the saved benches. You're squished the entire concert, so you make friends with the people next to you (the somewhat angry girl next to me wanted a picture with me because I was nice to her. yay for being nice).

I was in the second row. Second row! Great view, which made me especially excited to take pictures! As you can tell:

Fully willing to be a concert photographer for a living :)

Listen. Repeat.

my favorite parts (as of right now) of the new Coldplay album:

"Life in Technicolor"

and

"Death and All His Friends" - specifically at the 2 min 18.5 seconds transition and on.

I have listened over and over and over to that part.

Old duffer dancer

So at B's engagement party, there was some dancing. It was basically a bunch of high school girls and B, me, and her sis. We are going thru different songs and Billie Jean comes on and me and B are singing along and dancing (hello, it was played at every high school dance). I look over at the younger girls and they aren't dancing. Finally one says, "This sounds like Michael Jordan. I mean Jackson."

How could you not know this song!!

Then Chris Brown and 50 Cent come on and they go crazy singing and dancing and I ask, "Who is this?" (They do all sound the same whilst rapping and stuff).

I realized I'm old.

Buckethead

Me: "Um, that guy has a bucket on his head."
R: "Yeah, or a lampshade."
(*Shhhhhhhhhredding guitar* as we get closer.  He not only has a bucket on his head, but a white mask on his face and a blue jumpsuit.)
Me: "Who is that?"
R: "No idea."
Me: "His name should be White Face, Bucket Head.  Let's go see who he is."

Find the sign.

Me: "His name IS Buckethead and he opened with That 1 Guy."

Pause, no response due to slight distraction probably.

R sees the sign: "Oh my gosh!  You weren't kidding!  I thought you were making it up again!"

Yes people, Buckethead is out there.

sorry this one is so blurry and all around not good.

Wedding Song

As of today, I get to sing this on Saturday morning at a wedding. Never heard it before, but my dad tells me that it may win as most overdone wedding song for 25 years. I like the way we are doing it for Saturday.

This is Paul of "Peter, Paul, and Mary."

Eisley

Rediscovered how much I like this band. They are made up of 4 sibs and a friend. And a newish CD is out. Here is something from it:
